Based on the concept that our Sunday morning adult classes are small communities, we strive to weave into each class the teaching of sound biblical truth with the building of strong relationships. Because we offer a variety of class topics, you are able to step into a group that will help you begin your walk with Jesus, or gain a deeper understanding of the Bible or doctrine, or learn how to cope with life, marriage, and children, or simply to know yourself and your God better.

Makeup classes can be arranged if a class is missed.

David Mackie Room 224
We will study the book of Daniel. If you like to study the Bible in small portions, slowly and carefully, looking at both context and detail, come join us. Missions
Mark Heazlit Room 228
This class is devoted to equipping believers to become world Christians through lectures, films, missionary testimonies, and prayer. It will challenge your thinking, instill a passion for reaching the unsaved, and align your heart closer with God's own heart. Discover how to become part of God’s sovereign plan to bless all the peoples on earth, to learn about current topics and key events in missions, and about people in missions history. Men’s Fellowship Class -- Apprentice of Jesus Series
Pastor Jerry Schneider Room 324
We will use Gary Thomas' new book Pure Pleasure - Why Do Christians Feel So Bad About Feeling Good?, as well as the Scriptures. The focus on this study is to help us understand that the “abundant life” that Jesus promises in John 10:10 is a better life than we could ever have imagined. And here is the good news: It is not life after DEATH, but LIFE after birth. The powerful aspect of Gary Thomas’s books is that he always looks at the subject through the “lens of the transformation of our soul.”
Note: Same material is offered at 9:15 and 11:00 in the same room
Crossroads*
Pastor Lonnie Harris Rooms 325 & 327
Bored with church? Finding it harder to resist the urge to just stay in bed on Sunday mornings? Disillusioned with Christianity, embarrassed or uncertain about many of the church’s teachings? On the verge of walking away from church or maybe from your faith all together? Let’s talk about it. The book of Hebrews is written to a group of professing Christians who much like young adults today, are finding it increasingly difficult and/or undesirable to keep their commitment to their church family and to Christ. We’ll be hearing the testimonies of young adults - some who are currently going through this same struggle, others who have come through it successfully, and some who have gone on to completely renounce their faith in Christ.
MERGE (Married and Engaged Relationships, God Empowered) NEW
John Ruffa Rooms 227 & 229
The Bridge NEW
David & Lindsay Batts and John & Stacy Jowers Room 326
The Bridge is a community of college-aged young adults growing closer together and closer to Christ. We are in the middle of Tim Keller's video series "The Reason for God" where we are investigating a few of the questions and doubts even ardent believers wrestle with today, questions that we encounter on our college campuses and workplaces every day. He uses philosophy, real-life conversations, and reasoning to explain how faith in a Christian God is a soundly rational belief, held by people of intellectual integrity with a deep compassion for those who truly want to know the truth. Email us at bridge@forcey.org for more information.
Ladies Bible Class
Bonnie Ballard & Brenda Bradley Room 328
Have you ever been frustrated with your own attempt to create some neat little package out of the adversity we all face from time to time? Join us as we prayerfully consider the life of Joseph (and our own pits and pitfalls), and the redemptive power of God’s Word. Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Second Hour 11:00 – 12:15
Isaiah (Part 4)
Dr. Todd Beall Room 150
We conclude our study of the magnificent book of Isaiah by looking at the closing chapters of the book, dealing with prophecies about the glorious future of Israel, the first and second advents of Christ, His coming in judgment and salvation, and the New Heavens and New Earth. Come join us as we finish this amazing OT book!
Ladies Bible Class
Andrea Wiltrout Room 162
Our new study will use Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians to draw us into a deeper understanding of who Christ is and what it might mean for us to truly imitate Him in our daily lives. We will begin in Ephesians, which emphasizes the exaltation of Christ over all principalities and powers from the beginning of time to the end of time. Next we will look at the letter to the Philippians, which encourages believers to follow the pattern laid out for us in Christ, and to oppose those who are enemies of the Cross. This epistle is full of wisdom for those who desire to live in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ. Finally, we will study Colossians. We will learn about the importance of the person and work of Christ as Lord of all creation and the author of our peace with God.
Timeline to Eternity
Gerald Holiday Room 226
Having trouble pulling God’s Big Picture together? Come connect the dots from God’s plan of creation, through man’s fall and redemption, opening of eternal life with Him, and major points in between. Each week we’ll cover a different topic from historic and prophetic points of view and all part of God’s plan. Well look at the Bible itself, God the Creator, Biblical and contemporary accounts of creation, Fall and banishment from the Garden, the flood, prophecy in Jewish festivals, history and prophecy of arch rivals Babylon and Jerusalem, Christ’s redemption, early church development, Gnostic gospels and extra-Biblical literature, Rapture, Tribulation periods, Millennial rule, New Jerusalem, and many of the events in between. Power point notes available each week. Outstanding coffee and snacks.
The Homebuilders Fellowship
Team Teaching Room 227
Come join us as we learn to “Improve our Serve” together. Charles Swindoll uniquely shows the important aspects of authentic servanthood, such as: What it takes to serve unselfishly; why a servant has such a powerful influence; and what challenges and rewards a servant can expect. He offers clear guidelines on developing a servant's heart and challenges you to realize the rich rewards promised in a life of authentic Christian servanthood.
Luke
David Bruce & Rick Claybrook Room 228
We will continue our study of Luke’s gospel. In addition to being a physician and an exceptionally gifted writer, Luke also is the Church’s first great historian and the only Gentile writer in the New Testament. Luke shares much in common with the other two synoptic gospels’ account of Jesus’ ministry, but he covers other matters that are unique in the New Testament, including: the nativity account; glimpses of Jesus’ childhood; certain discourses, parables, and miracles; and much of the Ascension narrative that concludes the gospel (and serves as a bridge to the sequel, the Acts of the Apostles).
I Thessalonians
Ken Roussey Room 229
We will continue our in-depth study of I Thessalonians. This letter was one of Paul’s earliest epistles. Although he and his companions were only able to minister to this church for a brief period, Paul shares his joy in their spiritual progress. He identifies traits that characterize every regenerated believer in Christ and focuses on the marks of a healthy, prospering church. Paul also gives instruction on the end times, but does so in the context of his pastoral concerns for the church. Considerable time is given for class discussion, questions, and exploring Scriptures that help us to grasp and apply the meaning of the passages studied.
Purpose Driven PrayerAbraham Ajenifuja Room 320
Taken from Luke 11:2, “He said to them, When you pray, say: “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name,” we will learn together how praying is deeply rooted in our intimacy with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Join us for prayer!
