Missions Vision
Forcey Bible Church believes that no church can truly follow God without sharing God’s heart for the whole world. Forcey has been actively involved in overseas and domestic missionary outreach for almost all of its 80-year history. Today we support 31 missionary families serving in 27 countries, including several which are formally closed to missionary activity. Many others serve with organizations reaching out to internationals in U.S. colleges and universities, while others are in full-time service in outreach and evangelism on the campuses and inner cities of the USA. All told, over 60 missionary “entities” are supported by Forcey on a monthly basis, along with several missionary organizations. Furthermore, almost 40 percent of those missionaries were part of the Forcey congregation at some point before beginning their full-time missionary service. We are not just a “supporting” church, we are a “sending” church.
Annual Conference
Every spring Forcey hosts a week-long missions conference, with over a dozen of our missionaries in attendance. This conference includes a Saturday banquet, a full evening of prayer, a series of week-night seminars, and missionary presentations in almost every Sunday school class and small group Bible study. Another annual event is the Christmas in October breakfast, used to provide a special Christmas gift to our missionaries and allow extensive personal contact between our congregation and our missionaries around a table.
Teens and Missions
Forcey sponsors a 3-year summer missions program for teens, known as Mission Possible. This program teaches teens to share their faith in public and do evangelism in a wide variety of environments, with the final year spent overseas in a cross-cultural experience. Other short-term missions trips are also part of the Forcey program, ranging from 2-week trips for ministry exposure up to multiple-month commitments for individuals who are not yet called to permanent full-time service.
A Culture of Missions
Finally, a major contribution to the missionary culture at Forcey comes from our congregation, where we have people from over 30 different countries of birth. In every aspect of this church, God’s heart for the whole world is clearly visible.
